Torn

I'm constantly torn between
"If it's meant to be, it will be."
And "If you want it, go get it."
Like somehow I'm supposed to make a decision in my mind
That some things are better let go,
And goddammit try harder.

But it's not that easy.
Because you'll never know,
Until it's gone.
You'll think to yourself,
"Dammit I should've ran faster,"
Or "Why did I push so hard?"

Decisions are not always easily made,
Because they can sit in your mind forever.
Contemplation is overthinking,
And insanity seems easier.

The question is should or should not,
And quite frankly I'm indifferent.
Communication and a simple "yes" or "no"
Is too much to ask for.
Like I'm supposed to know,
Without you telling me.

I'll chase you around the world,
Or sit here until you get back,
Just tell me the difference in my head.
I can't do both.

It's always "why didn't you know?"
Because...
Life's never that easy.
Ambition isn't enough anymore,
You have to be qualified, too.

And a side of abs.
Did you want Mr. Romantic too?
Because I can give you that.

Maybe...
The answer is so hard,
Because I don't understand the question.
I'll tell you what you want to hear
If that makes you happy.

Otherwise,
I'll just be off with my timing
Until a miracle happens.
